Dursley News - December 2011
 

Compared with December 2010, this month was mild and the temperatures were very un-seasonal. This has allowed work to progress rapidly on numerous projects around the area. Dursley's new hospital took its first patients on December 5th and the new building on Chapel Street which is intended to house Cam Parish Council offices has changed significantly. The timber frame construction of this building has really allowed the whole thing to go up at a very rapid rate.

On Kingshill Road the site next to the toll house is also going through transformation, a new concrete base has been laid and the internal woodwork of the old building has been cleared out ready for new construction.

    Cam Parish office progress
The roof is going on at the new building on Chapel Street in Cam which will house the Cam Parish Council office and a cafe.

    The windows go in
Two weeks later, the roof is on and work is progressing with window installation.

Just a few days later and the building almost looks complete with its large windows in place.

    Toll house renovation
Following the removal of the old cycle shop which was previously used as a cafe, the groundworks has started on a new construction adjoining the old tollhouse on Kingshill Road. At the same time the building has been gutted and the rotten staircase and wooden floor have been removed.

    Dursley Hospital opening day

    Solar panels for the swimming pool
New solar panels have been laid along the south facing slope of the swimming pool in Dursley town centre.
