Dursley News - April 2008

With the weather improving and the days lengthening, construction of Rednock School seemed to accelerate this month and progress on the second level of the main building is now well underway. Much of the car park area has also been laid out on the Kingshill Road side of the site and it really does seem like a building is now taking shape. The area of land at the corner of Kingshill Road and Kingshill Lane, once occupied by tennis courts, has now been screened off by wooden fencing to hide the site on which the new fire station is to be built.

On Uley Road, at the other end of town, the last batch of new houses on the old Mawdsley's site is nearing completion and the for sale boards are up. There is now nothing left to remind anyone of the industry that once occupied this area.
