Dursley News - May 2011

At long last the hoardings and fencing alongside the new houses in May Lane have been taken down and the pavements reopened after resurfacing. It's been a long time since closure so this is a welcome sign of the progress in this area of the town centre. This small development actually has a new name as well, 'Eden Stone', and several of them have been sold. Another good sign is the opening of a new shop in Silver Street, an area which sometimes struggles to get occupation. A fresh coat of brightly coloured paint has helped to smarten the premises considerably as well.

The new hospital continues to show progress and decorative blue cladding is now going up on several of the external walls. It really does look near completion now but no doubt there is much to do inside.

One event in town during May was the annual Dursley C of E Primary School Summer fair which saw large crowds enjoying themselves at the attractions and stalls. A fun day was had by all!
