Dursley News - July 2012

It was festival time during July with activities in the town centre on the weekends of 7th and 14th of the month. The main town festival day was unfortunately affected by the earlier very wet weather which meant that the recreation ground was not available. It did go ahead though and crowds gathered to enjoy themselves in the market place and Parsonage Street. The end of July also saw the start of the London 2012 Olympics and there was evidence of this with the giant banner on the swimming pool wall.

Around town work has begun to create a permanent roundabout to replace the temporary structure and the previous traffic lights at the junction of Parsonage Street, May Lane and Castle Street. This should be a great improvement when complete.
