Dursley News - March 2011

Further work continues on the new houses in May Lane and aside from the unfinished pavement, to all intents and purposes they now appear substantially complete. The rear of the plots needs further work as does the small road which will allow access to the rear of the properties, which is now in the course of construction.

Elsewhere, construction of the new Vale Community hospital is well under way. This facility which is due to open in 2012 will replace the existing Berkeley Hospital and Sandpits Clinic in Dursley.

One completed project this month was the refurbishment of the old Coop store at the corner of May Lane and Parsonage Street. Part of this building, which was most recently the Warehouse nightclub, has become the home of the estate agent, Besley Hill, who transferred from their shop in Long Street. The remainder of the ground floor and the first floor is due to become a restaurant.
